Anyeonghaseyo!

My friendly JB DVD dude has been supplying me K-pop music since he profits so much from my purchase of his Korean drama series.

As a person with no discerning taste in music, I took whatever he recommended and listen to them in the car everyday. I didn't know how hooked I am until I started singing along out loud one day - in KOREAN mind you!

The thing about K-Pop is this - it is very much hiphop R&B which I normally don't like but for some strange reasons, I love how the Koreans do it. Very rarely do the singers go solo but they usually go in groups of more than 5 members (Super Junior has 13!) and everything is about synchronizing . Most are them are into "electronifying" the songs by manipulating voices digitally (think Darth Vader but in a higher octave) and the beats are always simple and catchy, almost always repetitive. The end result screams "AH BENG ALERT" but if you can get past that, K-pop is actually a very addictive genre of music.

Anyway, this is the one of the songs I have been "singing" to. I didn't know how 귀여워 these Korean pop singers are until I saw this MV. Check out those moves!!

Btw, I was informed by the Man that the group name "2NE1" is pronounced as "twentyone". Wah so clever....
