The bovine theory on monogamy

Have you guys heard of the New Cow Theory?

According to chic lit writer, Laura Zigman, men are, by nature, polygamous (i.e. needs multiple sex partners)– like cows. They did a test on a male bull. It was discovered that once this male bull mated with a female cow, he will instinctively not want to mate with her again. Because she is an 'Old Cow'.

So what they did is, they disguised the Old Cow by changing her appearance, scent and so on while letting the male bull romp around with other New Cows. They then presented the disguised Old Cow to the male bull.

He goes up to her, gave her a once-over and stomped off immediately with a floppy dick. His polygamous genes were flaring all over the place! He wants a New Cow, not an Old Cow with a makeover!

This New Cow theory suggests that men will eventually get sick and tired of being with one sex partner because they are ‘programmed’ by nature to populate and to sow their seeds far and wide.

There is also another study that suggest that “romantic love”, as we suckers call it, is actually nothing more than a mating call of the wild which will last no longer than 18 months. What this mean is, the hormones released when he “falls in love” stays in his bodies for only 18 months – long enough for you to get laid, get pregnant and have a kid – before he loses interest and go find another New Cow.

What all these theories are suggesting is: To get a man to commit to the same person for the rest of his life is 'genetically' not possible for he will always be inclined to want a variety. In fact some men go as far as to justify this by saying that they are just fulfilling a physical need but emotionally, they still love their Old Cows.

Mind the pun but I think that’s really bullshit. In the first place, why are we even comparing men to cows? That is not very clever considering it is trite knowledge that the basic thing that separates man from animals is free will. Human beings are equipped with a brain that can analyze, rationalize and make decisions for ourselves. Cheating is nothing more than a choice we make.

Humans are just plain hedonistic creatures who will never be satisfied. Our bodies are weak, fragile and easily tempted by pleasure of the flesh. The will is weak, not the genes!

Grrr!

denying the power of the genes? What about obese people? genetic diseases? Damn these people have really no "human will"!
It is also funny how people get all touched by gay penguins that are faithful (until the said guys split up recently because one of the guy went for a more powerful female... lol) and arguing that if penguins are gay then gay men is also natural but for cows... can not meh? Not saying cheating is good... and I know what i am talking about but what if...? what if what make us different from animals is our morally fabricated wills that doesn't fit our genes?

Good point abt the gay penguins, Silly French Man! Haha. One school of thought is that we human all have 'animal instincts' so we naturally follow the animals...gay penguins, cheating cows...do u know all animals are promiscious, btw?? only rare few (like the voles) are monogamous and mate for life. GEE!
