He asked me how do I do it.
Be happy?
Well......
Buddha tells us that life is suffering. The minute we open our eyes in the morning and realise it's a weekday...PAIN. That drive to work in a bumper-to-bumper morning traffic...PAIN. Getting nasty emails from clients who have brocolli for brains....PAIN. Pumping iron and tearing your muscles to get a nicer silhouette.....PAIN. Waiting by the phone/email/msn for a message from that elusive lover...PAIN.
Buddha also tells us that what we think, we become. The minute we open our eyes and realised that we are still breathing with all limbs attached despite the shits thrown at us... BLISS. Tuning in to hilarious morning radio shows and belting your favourite tunes as you drive to work..... BLISS. Showing your clients that you are a much bigger person than them by tactfully slamming their ridiculous demands politely with a hint of sarcasm....BLISS. Having the rush of adrenaline flow through your veins as you push your body to the limits.....BLISS. Savouring the sweetness of good memories spent with past lovers and looking forward to the next fresh blood....BLISS.
The mind is everything. The difference between someone who is happy and someone who is sad is not circumstances in life. It is the direction of the mind.

If you ever find happiness by hunting for it, you will find it, as the old woman did her lost spectacles, safe on her own nose all the time.

Well said frou frou, well said indeed. We should all take a leaf out of your book.
Buddha is full of sh*t and you know it. And Buddhists who feel angry at my statement, guess what : you ain't Buddhists if you feel angry. so HAH!
Long live the queen, your humble servant will always remain happy in your presence...
Aiyo ex-husband, why so angst!
I am not a Buddhist but I believes that the teaching of Buddhism is a way of life, not religion. Buddha himself said that one should believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who said it - even if he have said it himself - unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.
