Of Being Retirement Ready & Being Put To Shame By Toe's Mother

Yesterday was a public holiday so we had a 3-day weekend.  This is what I ended up doing:

1. Ate a big 'celebratory' bowl of ramen from Tao Ippudo on Friday night to start off the weekend
2. Plan logistics to go attend Faye Wong concert in KL on Sunday
3. Fret about the logistics to attend Faye Wong concert in KL on Sunday
4. Decide against going Faye Wong concert in KL on Sunday because of the thought of being in LCCT (KL's budget airport) on a Muslim holiday
5. Celebrate the decision with a beer, cigarette and good night sleep.
6. Spent the entire day in bed on Saturday reading a guide from the Singapore Gah-ment about being retirement ready.
7. Fret about not being retirement ready.
8. Went for perfunctory climbing session with Toe to complain to her about not being retirement ready.
9. Made Angus beef burger for dinner and discussed the perils of not being retirement ready with The Man.
10. Watched re-runs of  Channel 8 drama series "On the Fringe" on TV.
11. Drove to JB on Sunday and bought a year supply of toilet paper, tissue paper and kitchen towels.
12. Watched Jersey Shores in bed while drinking red wine and eating a Snickers bar. Very, very bad for the body and mind but feels damn good. (Coincidentally, Snooki's nickname is Snickers. Hehe.)
13. Woke up early to go to the gym with Toe... and her mum! Got ass whipped by Mrs Toe who carried more weights than me during Body Pump.
14. Long brunch at Cellar Door with the gang, Compared holiday stories and belly sizes.
15. Long chat with my real estate agent because must get retirement ready
16. Made ginseng chicken soup from Toi's recipe. It turned out REALLY delicious. When I retire, this is what I will be making and drinking this everyday. I will share it with my old folks friends.
17. Did the laundry.
18. Watched the Malaysian production, Nasi Lemak 2.0. Laughed till jaws dropped then fell asleep. I'm not sure if it will ever be screened in Singapore but do check out the trailer below. You will enjoy it if you can understand Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkein, Hakka, Malay and Indian. That's as rojak as it can get!

And now, my friends, I'm heading to the airport to catch my plane to India for work. Au revoir till end of the week...
