Would you rather be a poor saint or a rich monster?

Going green is the way to go these days. We have to. After all, we are killing Mother Earth every day with our profligate ways.

Which is why when my company was featured in The Good Guide for being best in its category for promoting green & ethical products, we all gave ourselves a pat on the back. I am really proud to work for an organization who is always looking out for ways to minimize its business impact on the environment; this is reflected in the way we source for raw materials, our manufacturing process and our products.

The Good Guide also features companies who are not friends of the environment. To my amusement, the company that came up worst in the same category as us is the one that my Ex-Boss is currently working for. I happily messaged him on Google Chat:

Frou: Check out this link. You guys suck!

(The phone rings. It is Ex-Boss, of course.)

Ex-Boss: HEY!
Frou: NA NA NA NA NAY!
Ex-Boss: Let me remind you. We are rolling in money, and you guys are not.
Frou: That doesn’t matter! We care for Mother Gaia!
Ex-Boss: Mother Gaia won’t rain money on you!
Frou: You are such a monster!
Ex-Boss: But I am a rich monster. Wouldn’t you prefer that over being a poor saint?

Actually, no. I wouldn’t prefer that. Which is probably why I am still with this company 7 years coming!
