Bring it back!

I started buying a lot of “adult clothes” last month because one of my new year resolutions is to “Get Serious” at work. By “adult clothes”, I am talking about clothes that tend to make you look older and in my case, look my actual age. To me, that mean tops with actual sleeves, no “cut outs” anywhere, structured jackets, and most importantly, covered shoes. Complete with hair in buns, tattoos all hidden and the right amount of makeup.

But then…

In my last post, I shouted out “BRING IT ON” on my first day of work (I actually did that literally) because I wanted to be gung-ho and  superhero and all that and guess what? It really was ON because life started throwing me LAWSUITS. I was suddenly riddled with 4 major disputes to handle this week itself.

What is it about the holiday season that makes people cranky and in the mood to sue? Or were they just trying to be malicious by sending us demand letters during this supposedly happy & relaxed time? People hate lawsuits, particularly those who are sued. People get upset, confused and they point fingers at one another. And who has to handle all that? *points at self*

So, I have been running around this whole week trying to soothe ruffled feathers. Why is that related to my office wardrobe? Well, because with all that running around, I haven’t been able to put my mind to dressing like an adult. I know I should because I am doing adult things at work (oi, don’t get the wrong idea!) and I’m already exhausted acting like an adult let alone dress like one. And perhaps, I was also feeling a little rebellious. Today I know I have to get on major calls with angry lawyers and angry business people but what did I wear? * drum roll*

Harem pants - with the crotch area hanging at knee level. With black studded gladiator sandals. And a leather studded bracelet. And a very thick line of liquid black eyeliner.

Why? Because my friends, there’s a RAVE going on here in the office and I am going to ownself dance to my own beats.
