Nightmares before work

This morning, the Mix FM deejays asked listeners to call in with their grievances on ‘nightmares they encounter before even reaching work.’

An anal retentive listener complains that she cannot leave for work unless her house is spick and span. So her biggest nightmare is to find lurking dusts (blown in during the night) or misplaced toys on the floor (dragged around by her restless cats) in the morning. She goes berserk cleaning before going to work.

Another caller (a famed construction contractor in yellow boots from the Lion City) complains that he sometimes get into the car and starts driving but forgets which client he is suppose to meet that morning. So he ends up driving round and round the block until he remembers where he is suppose to go.

I thought about the nightmares I encounter before work and here is my top 10 list:

1. Going back to sleep thinking it is a Sunday.

2. Not finding any clean underwear (who forgot to do laundry??)

3. Cannot decide what to wear for work (even though I wear jeans everyday doesn’t mean it’s easy choosing which top to go with it, ok!)

4. Spilling coffee/peanut butter/nasi lemak all over myself during the drive (yes, I eat my breakfast in the car. It’s a very long drive mar….Zzzz)

5. Needing to go to the toilet real bad – while stuck in morning traffic – especially on rainy days.

6. Listening to bad jokes on radio morning shows.

7. Reaching the ERP Gantry one minute before the next lower pricing period starts (which for your information, is after 08:55am along the ECP)

8. Checking my Blackberry at traffic light stops and discovering random horror work events that took place during the night (Lesson learnt: When bored, read other things lying around the car, e.g. spa brochures, road directory etc., instead of emails)

9. Arriving at the office but realize that I forgot to bring my laptop (considering that it takes me 30 mins to get to work, it’s an absolute nightmare to have to go back and retrieve it – 1.5 hours gone!)

Last but not least, the worst nightmare that can happen to me on a work morning is…..

*drum roll*

MISBEHAVING HAIR!! ARGHHHHHHHH! It’s an absolute morning slammer!

(I am not a bimbo. Really)

What's your peeve?
