Time for cosmic change...

My source of all things zen and cosmic, Mary (whom I nominated as most likely to attain nirvana on Superlaxative on Facebook), warned me today that there will be a total lunar eclipse tomorrow.

And it’s a damn good thing, she says.

An eclipse occur when there is an alignment of the Sun, Moon and Earth. When the Moon moves between the Sun and the Earth, a shadow is cast on the Earth – this is the Solar Eclipse. When the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon casting a shadow on the Moon – this is the Lunar Eclipse.

Eclipses always mean crisis, but crisis is not always necessarily a bad thing. The alignment of the planets and its resulting eclipses is a very powerful occurrence and have great impact on us.

Lunar eclipses (August 28, 2007) represent finishing things;
Solar eclipses (September 11, 2007) mean new beginnings,

Mary explained that we are all born with a destiny. In the daily humdrum of life, it is easy for us to wander off our destined path . In fact, we are bound to stray because we are granted free will to choose our journey.

Let’s just say you're destined to spend your life with Mr Right but you are with Mr Wrong at the moment. While you are with Mr Wrong, there is no chance for you to find Mr Right. The worse it gets with Mr Wrong, the harder you try to fix it. He treats you meaner and you get keener, because it's human nature to try and make something work through sheer stubborn-mindedness, insecurity or fear.

Eclipses - especially full lunar eclipses - are nature's way of releasing our grip on the wrong person, job, idea or plan - anything that steers us off the path towards our destiny. Eclipses can be hard to deal with, because we often have to release something we've been attached to, even if we're attached for the wrong reasons.

Eclipses give us the energy, power and inspiration to make that change. The part of our lives receiving focused attention is determined by the location in our charts where the eclipses occur and the planets and angles ignited by the eclipses. All things that have been hidden or neglected in the area of our life being triggered will come to the surface to be revealed. This is a time when subconscious information will come to the surface toincrease our awareness and to help us grow, evolve and heal.

Once we consciously decide to make that change and let go of our old attachments, the coming Solar Eclipse will bring us new beginnings.

That is why eclipses can be tough, but ultimately rewarding

The greatest intensity occurs during the two weeks between the eclipses which means you would have already felt the intensity of the eclipse energy lately.

This month alone, I have seen at least 4 breakups amongst friends – even of my own. I have witnessed relocation plans amongst at least 2 friends– even of my own. I have heard of at least 2 resignation of jobs and lifestyle change. Coincidence maybe, but more likely, cosmic.

Even if you don't believe any of the above, now is a good opportunity (as any) to truly assess your life and make that long awaited change. Letting go of old unwanted habits, and welcoming new goals. They cannot be exclusive of each other.
