I tried 2 new things recently...

1. Jersey Shore

I picked up Season 1 from my JB DVD shop because the stuff I want are not here yet (i.e. Nikita, The Good Wife, Big Bang Theory...) so I thought I'll watch something mindless in the meantime.

After watching 2 episodes, I conclude that it is not only mindless, but you actually kill more brain cells watching it than not watching it (get what I mean?). I feel dumb yet at the same time, intrigued. And then disgusted. Then amazed. It's a very, very weird feeling. It's like a train wreck; you want to stop watching it but then you can't stop coz you want to know what's going to happen next.

I learnt a few interesting terms from the show, such as "guido" (simply put, an American-Italian metrosexual ah beng), "guidette" (a chick who likes guidos) and "the situation". Also, watching the Jersey Shore kids get up to no good made me feel sooooo much better about my 'reckless' youth. In fact, there is no comparison at all; Generation X are just so much more "out there" and in your face these days.

The Man rang me while I was watching the show last night and after chatting for a short while, I told him I'm tired and going to bed. He called my bluff. "You're hanging up to watch Jersey Shore, right??"

*Eeks*

2. Vegemite Cheesybite

I saw this on the supermarket shelves in Australia and my first thought was.... hmm... vegemite + cream cheese.. how delightful!

I bought a jar of Cheesybite but stupidly put it in my handcarry luggage. While going through Australian Customs, the officer told me I can't bring the jar into the aircraft because they consider it to be more than 100ml of liquid. Of course I went into a debate with him over the classification of 'liquid' (vegemite is liquid, meh!??) but I lost that fight so he binned my jar. Sob.

I thought I won't have the chance to try Cheesybite again until I saw it on the shelves in Cold Storage in Singapore. Woot! What's more, all them are on quick sale so it is half the price. (I wonder why. No one in Singapore likes it?)

So I bought a jar and I had it this morning with toasted bread.

HHmmmmmmmm Emmmmm......

If you're a Vegemite lover, you're gonna love it. The texture itself is smoother and more spreadable. As for the taste, the cream cheese makes the vegemite less "biting" so it's milder but creamier.

This is definitely good for hangover!
