While other lawyers are putting criminals in jail and fighting for human rights…

I am stuck with inane problems such as angry persons leaving angry messages on our website.

Apparently, one Mr Angry wrote in to ask a question about one of our products. His enquiry was not picked up so he didn’t get a reply. When he continued badgering for an answer, our Marketing folks finally called Mr Angry to offer him the answer. But Mr Angry was, by then, very angry and said he doesn’t want the answer anymore but before he slams down the phone, he left his email address behind (??) so Marketing wrote him an email to tell him the answer anyway – and that angered Mr Angry even more so he started writing very nasty comments on our website saying… we don’t answer questions.

So, Marketing wants a “legal” opinion on this matter. Because they said Mr. Angry appears to be a troublesome individual and this may lead to “legal” repercussions. Their email to me was marked “VERY URGENT & SERIOUS”.

Intepreted as: When in doubt, just call it a “legal” issue and chuck it to Frou.

I slam my head against my computer screen for a good ten minutes. Then I took a deep breath. Then I replied, in the only way I know how:

“There is no law that says we must answer his question.”
