In a play by William Congreve entitled "The Mourning Bride", he likened the rage of a woman scorned to something not even hell can contain.
"Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, Nor hell a fury like a woman scorned."
This play was written in 1697. I can only imagine if women back in the 17th century are that feisty, what of the "evolved" women today.
But I think there is a caveat somewhere. Our European sisters are clearly more liberal to to demonstrate their emotions in such a fanfare way. Not here, though.
Here, our fury is often expected to be heavily mollified. To be dormant. To grovel. To walk behind the ego.
The men will beg to differ but despite all the psychotic gf stories they share, you'll find one common theme there - a placated but deranged girl.
